LPS Winter Newsletter
2’s Classes
Wow!
I can’t believe it’s the end of January already! January has been filled with
lots of winter activities. We’ve read about snow, snowmen, bears, polar bears
and mittens so far. We will be checking out penguins next week. Also PJ Day is
next week. The children are having lots of fun in music with Mrs. Love. She
visits us once a month and brings some cool instruments along with some fun
music!
February
will be filled with shadows (Groundhog Day), Valentine’s Day and Fairytales.
We’ll be posting a sign up sheet for our Valentine Party. Red day is also tied
into our party.
Please
continue to label your child’s snow gear and put it in a labeled bag; it makes
getting ready easier on us.
Sending
your child in easy to manage pants for potty time makes a huge difference. It’s
important that they can be close to being self-sufficient in the bathroom.

3’s Classes
We have grown so much this year! The children
come into the classrooms with happy smiles and lots of stories to share. What a
fun way to begin the day!
They continue to practice self-help skills
as they dress to go outside each day. We are all doing a great job! Social
skills such as cooperation, kindness and good manners are reinforced during
playtime.
Circle time has provided opportunities to
work on listening and following directions. Encouraging the little ones to
complete age appropriate tasks independently is a great self-esteem builder.
Bathroom breaks are typically scheduled
for 9:45. Kindly take your child to the bathroom when they arrive at school.
We have been busy with our winter themes:
snowflakes, penguins, Corduroy, Valentine’s Day and pajama Day!
Thank you parents for all of your support.
4’s Classes
Wow!
Name writing is coming along nicely! If your schedule allows, please practice
name writing at home. To help understand that we read and write from left to
right, trace your finger along each sentence while reading a book to help
develop this skill.
Just a reminder to please take your child
to the bathroom prior to the start of school.
Our winter activities have included
snowmen, penguins, polar bears, Valentine’s Day and Pajama Day.
Thank you parents for taking the time to
attend your child’s conference. It is a joy to watch the children grow and
master new skills and we are happy to share their progress with you.

I really enjoyed seeing everyone at
the Holiday Program in December. I think we all had a wonderful time and so
enjoyed watching the children show what they have learned so far this year. I
also enjoyed meeting and talking to family members.
Parent
Night will be on Feb. 10th with a snow date of Feb. 11th.
What a great way for families to get to know each other and have fun with the
children.
We
again are looking forward to a visit from the dental office. This is a fun way
for children to learn about good dental health.
We
are all looking forward to some fun programs this spring. Keep your eyes and
ears open for more information as final plans are made.
Your
continued support is appreciated. Thank You!
At this time all classes are full for the
fall! We continue to give tours and to place new children on our waiting list.
Because of the demand, we are anticipating a New 3’s Class!! We will be
able to open this class as soon as the church approves it, which should be
shortly. We are so excited about being
able to provide this additional class!!!
